Inland Spain becoming more popular

Experts in the Spanish property market have highlighted a growing trend of investors looking at inland areas instead of coastal towns.

According to Spanishpropertyinsight.com, some investors have shunned property by the sea because a number of places have become highly urbanised.

This has led to some choosing to be more cautious and taking longer when deciding the location of their investment property, as they were spending time looking at inland areas.

Mark Stucklin, spokesperson for Spanishpropertyinsight, said: “The five to ten year trend has definitely been away from the coast, in to new areas, away from urbanisations of the coast.”

He added that although the preferred options for investors in Spain were changing, the British “love affair” with the country remained strong.

Earlier this month, a report from Barclays said that established markets such Spain remained very popular with overseas investors.

The firm stated that the country was receiving an unprecedented amount of interest from British buyers.
